Battery Waste Became Pouch Cells That Last Nearly Twice as Long
Researchers at Worcester Polytechnic Institute turned mixed battery waste into upgraded cathodes and graphite anodes, then built full pouch cells from nothing but the upcycled materials. The cells held 70% of their capacity after 2,590 cycles, nearly double the life of cells made with commercial materials, in research published in Advanced Energy Materials.
