AI Helped Nigerian Strawberry Farmers Grow 40% More Fruit

Through the SmartBerry project, Nottingham Trent University researchers used AI, sensors and edge computing to guide irrigation and spot plant stress on Nigerian strawberry farms. Yields rose 40%, post-harvest waste fell 15%, market-grade fruit jumped from 70% to 88%, and the farm's turnover nearly doubled.
