A 15-Minute Blood Test and AI Helped a Hospital Rethink Sepsis Care

Tampa General Hospital paired its Palantir-built Sepsis Hub with MeMed's 15-minute blood test that reads the immune response to tell bacterial infections from viral ones. In an 893-patient study, 26% more patients were safely reclassified as unlikely to have sepsis, cefepime use fell by a third, hospitalizations dropped 13%, and savings reached about $179,000 per 100 patients.
