An Automated Plant in Italy Began Turning 19,200 Tonnes of Textile Waste Back Into Spinning Fiber
IGERS inaugurated a new automated textile recycling plant near Novara that uses near-infrared optical sorters to identify pure cotton and wool fractions, then mechanically regenerates them into flakes and opened fibers for the spinning industry. The 8 million euro facility tracks every material stream digitally from buffering to final output.
