Two Surgeons Share One Robot in Japan's First Clinical Remote Robotic Surgeries

Surgeons at Hirosaki University Hospital and Tsugaru General Hospital have jointly operated the hinotori robot on five bowel cancer patients since August, with one doctor at the patient's side and a second guiding the same robot from 30 km away. All five surgeries succeeded, and the model is aimed squarely at rural hospitals short on specialists.
