An AI Reading Tutor Nearly Quadrupled Struggling Readers' Odds of Catching Up

Perry Township Schools in Indiana deployed the Project Read AI tutor, which listens to young children read aloud and gives sound-by-sound feedback, across four schools. Among the 520 students who started the year below benchmark, a student using the tutor 30 minutes a week had roughly a 68% chance of catching up, nearly four times the odds of one barely using it.
