A Patterned Copper Surface Could Make Anode-Free EV Batteries Last Longer
KAIST researchers patterned a copper foil with microscopic tube-like structures and added an ultrathin MXene coating, solving the uneven lithium buildup that degrades anode-free batteries. The design keeps the weight and energy density advantages of dropping the conventional anode, pointing toward smaller, longer lasting EV battery packs.
