A Silicon Battery Cell Passed 1,000 Cycles, Clearing a Key Bar for Longer-Range EVs
Fraunhofer ISE ran a silicon-rich battery pouch cell for more than 1,000 full cycles while keeping over 83 percent of its capacity, clearing the durability bar for commercial use. At mass-production energy densities, the same weight of battery could take a mid-size EV from about 450 km of range to well over 600 km.
