Water Droplets Wired Into Brain-Like Networks Compute With Ions, Not Electrons

Penn State engineers built soft networks of water droplets that process information like brain tissue, using ions instead of electrons at a far lower energy cost. In early tests, connected droplet networks cut prediction error by nearly half compared with isolated ones.
