Solar Power Keeps Vaccines Cold and Classrooms Lit on Timor-Leste's Atauro Island

A solar system handed over in July now gives Vila Maumeta's health centre, primary school and community centre power around the clock, ending the blackouts that once destroyed vaccine stocks. The village's 516 households sit on a boat-only island, and staff were trained to maintain the system themselves.
