An AI Reads Heart MRIs in 3 Seconds Instead of 13 Minutes

In a retrospective study of 27,382 patients published in The Lancet Digital Health, an AI segmented cardiac MRI scans in three to four seconds, against a clinician median of 13 minutes, and its ejection-fraction measurements were slightly better at predicting mortality. The gains are modest, the study is retrospective, and some authors have ties to the company behind the tool, MycardiumAI.
