AI Reads Coral Reef Photos 700 Times Faster Than Humans
ReefCloud, built by the Australian Institute of Marine Science, uses AI to analyse coral reef photos with 80 to 90% accuracy and 700 times faster than manual review. The platform now holds more than 4.5 million survey images from 2,900 users in 100 countries, and 84% of surveyed users said it improved their ability to process reef data.

Just Eat's AI Menu Photos Put a Fried Egg in a Glass of Cola
Just Eat trialled AI-generated menu photos that read dish names a little too literally: a fried egg and sausages floating in a glass of cola for 'Breakfast Soda,' a bread aeroplane for 'Garlic Bread Plane,' cheese-filled sushi for 'Cheese Roll,' and watermelon chunks floating in a glass of wine. Customers called the results 'absolutely rank' and the trial was paused, with the images pulled.
