A Blood Sensor Sniffs Out Parkinson's Markers in 40 Minutes
KAUST and Oxford researchers built an electronic blood sensor that measures three forms of alpha-synuclein at once, the protein signatures tied to Parkinson's, in about 40 minutes. In a blinded test it separated disease profiles from healthy controls with 87.7% accuracy, an encouraging step toward earlier diagnosis from a simple blood draw.
